Jacques Pelser, LPCC-S, NCC, LICDC

Jacques is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervisory designation as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor.  He earned his Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Malone University.  Jacques has worked in the mental health and addictions field for over a decade.  The populations Jacques has served include children, adolescent and adult addictions, adults with severe mental illness, group counseling, and school-based mental health treatment.  Jacques utilizes a multi-modal approach that is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulty adjusting to life stressors, addictions, anger management, and couple's issues, marriage and family systems, and multicultural issues.

​Jacques' unique life experience of growing up in South Africa allows him to have intimate knowledge of acculturation challenges for immigrants.  He is fluent in two languages and still enjoys watching rugby.  

Jacques is married to Joan and they have a son and a daughter.  They enjoy building puzzles and going tent camping together on a frequent basis.

​Jacques believes to take life as it comes, and to utilize thoughts and actions to make necessary changes for a fulfilling life.
