Maureen Cooper is the founder and director of The Gentle Shepherd Counseling Center. She earned her Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling and Psychology from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1991 and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor- Supervisor. She was the first Legal Advocate for Domestic Violence in Stark County and also past Director of the Rape Crisis Center. She was appointed by Ohio’s Governor to serve on the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board from 2010-2015. She enjoys working with adults on a wide variety of individual and marital issues. She is married and has two grown children, two step children and wonderful grandchildren. She loves swimming, knitting, traveling, and her mini-Cooper convertible.
