Premala Jones is a licensed psychologist, who earned her PhD. in Counseling Psychology from Kent State University in 1993, her M. Ed. in Community Counseling from the University of Dayton in 1989, and her BA in Psychology from Ohio Northern University in 1987. Her focus areas of treatment are depression, anxiety, women's issues, loss and grief, life adjustment issues, identity issues, holistic health psychology, trauma and spiritual issues.
Premala enjoys working with individuals, from adolescence to the elderly, as well as couples and families from various walks of life with a diversity of issues of concern. She has worked in numerous clinical settings including a research hospital, nursing home, university counseling centers, community mental health centers, private practices, and nonprofit organizations.
Premala has led seminars on various topics, including but not limited to: parenting, compassion fatigue, stress management, time management and effective communication. She has enjoyed serving as an assistant teaching director and a small group facilitator in women's ministries, mother-daughter discipleship groups, and as a lay discipleship mentor.
On a personal level, Premala has been married to her wonderful husband, Kevin, since 1990. She has six wonderful children, a delightful daughter-in-love, and a grandbaby to love and adore. She is also very passionate about her faith, family, friends, fellowship, and fun!
