Ronni Schaack is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory status (LPCC-S), having earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Ronni has been employed at The Gentle Shepherd Counseling Center since 2006 and she became partner in 2016. Ronni considers it a privilege to work in a faith-based environment where there is a unique advantage in combining a clinical and spiritual approach to promote healing on a holistic level.
Having been in the mental health field for over 20 years, Ronni has a wide range of experience working with populations from children to seniors in community agencies and other private practice settings. Ronni has significant experience working with individuals and couples and specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, life adjustment issues, infertility, grief, divorce recovery, addictions, trauma, spiritual concerns and relationship/marital issues.
Ronni also has a unique understanding of the emotional experience that military and missionary families go through and a special interest in helping people recover from traumatic life experiences. This passion to understand what helps individuals move from simply surviving to truly thriving led her to pursue additional training in specific trauma therapy techniques (such as EMDR) as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques. Ronni is a strong advocate of authenticity and getting to "the heart of the matter" throughout the counseling experience.
Ronni is married to Kevin and together they are raising a creative and amusing adolescent son. Ronni's passions and interests include her faith, family and 'furbabies', as well as gardening, history, traveling, hiking and kayaking.
