Emily Indorf, MA, LPCC-S, Executive Director and Clinical Director
*NOT TAKING NEW CLIENTS Emily Indorf is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory status, (LPCC-S). She earned her Master’s Degree from the Counseling and Guidance Education Program at Malone University. Emily is the Executive Director and Clinical Director of Gentle Shepherd Counseling Center.
Emily is trained to treat individuals with various mental health concerns. She especially enjoys working with individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, grief, guilt/shame, body image concerns, women's issues, and obsessive-compulsive thoughts. Her main area of focus is the treatment of trauma and PTSD. Emily is trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She has experience treating a wide variety of trauma such as childhood abuse/neglect, medical trauma, sexual assault, spiritual abuse, military-based PTSD, trauma from sudden loss, amidst several others.
Emily enjoys taking an educational approach in the therapeutic process in order to assist each person in understanding themselves more completely. She believes the mind/body/soul connection is powerful and integrates faith and prayer into treatment, if desired.
Emily is married to John, is a mother to two young children and a crazy cat named Linus. She is an animal lover at heart and would "own a zoo" if she could. Emily enjoys challenging herself artistically and is always up for a strong cup of coffee.
